This Privacy Policy describes how Balkan Liquor Syndicate ("BL Syndicate", “BLS”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). Please read this policy carefully. By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described herein.

This policy applies to all users of the BLS Platform, including beverage vendors and retail store buyers.


1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal and business information when you register for and use the BLS Platform:

1.1 Account & Identity Information

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Username and password (stored securely)

1.2 Business Information

  • Company or business name
  • Business type (vendor or retailer)
  • Business address
  • Tax identification or registration numbers (if applicable)
  • Product catalog information (for vendors)
  • Purchase history and order records

1.3 Usage & Device Information

We may automatically collect limited technical information when you use the Platform, including:

  • Device type and operating system
  • App version
  • General usage patterns (e.g. features accessed, session duration)
  • IP address (for security and fraud prevention purposes)

We do not collect precise location data, payment card numbers, or government-issued ID numbers.

1.4 User-Generated Content

When you use the in-app messaging feature, we collect the content of messages you send and receive, including text and photos or videos you choose to share. Messages are stored on our servers and visible only to the sender and recipient of each conversation.


2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Account creation & authentication: To register your account, verify your identity, and manage access to the Platform.
  • Platform operations: To facilitate transactions between vendors and retailers, process orders, and maintain your account.
  • Communications: To send you transactional messages, order confirmations, account notices, and important Platform updates.
  • Customer support: To respond to your inquiries, resolve disputes, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Security & fraud prevention: To detect, investigate, and prevent unauthorized access, fraud, and abuse of the Platform.
  • Legal compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.
  • Platform improvement: To analyze usage trends and improve the functionality and user experience of the Platform.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

3.1 Between Platform Users

To facilitate B2B transactions, certain business information — such as business name, contact name, phone number, and email — may be visible to other verified users of the Platform. For example, a retailer may see a vendor’s contact details when placing an order.

Messages and images sent through the in-app chat feature are visible only to the specific sender and recipient of that conversation. No other users can access your messages.

3.2 Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes. Current service providers include:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and backend infrastructure
  • Apple App Store — app distribution
  • Analytics providers — aggregated, anonymized usage data only

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of BLS, our users, or the public.

3.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change via the Platform or by email.


4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Platform’s services. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or fraud-prevention purposes — typically up to 7 years for transaction records.


5. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These measures include:

  • Encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS)
  • Secure authentication and access controls
  • Role-based permissions limiting who can access user data
  • Regular security reviews of our infrastructure

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.


6. Your Rights & Choices

6.1 Access & Correction

You may access and update your personal information at any time through your account settings within the Platform.

6.2 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at the email address below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations.

6.3 Communications Opt-Out

You may opt out of non-essential communications by contacting us directly. Note that transactional and account-related messages cannot be opted out of while your account remains active.

6.4 California Residents — CCPA Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to Know: You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  • Right to Delete: You may request deletion of personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
  • Right to Opt Out of Sale: We do not sell personal information. No opt-out is required.

7. Children’s Privacy

The BLS Platform is intended solely for use by business professionals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete it.


8. Third-Party Links & Services

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through the Platform.


9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the Platform or by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
